Senior errand services

Groceries, prescriptions, mail and more, brought to the door by someone who will stay for a chat if you like.

Text Joe now

Senior errand services take the tiring parts of the week off your plate, or off your parent's. I am Joe Stratman, and I run errands for older neighbors in Lincoln, Nebraska. You call or text, tell me what is needed, and I bring it to the door.

Who it helps

Older adults

You stay in charge of your list and your day. I handle the driving, the lines and the heavy bags.

Family caregivers

You can pass on the grocery run or the pharmacy trip and keep your own time for the rest.

Relatives far away

You can call me from another city, tell me what your mom or dad needs, and I bring it to the door.

That is the idea behind good senior errand services: help that fits the person, not a fixed package.

What I do for older neighbors

I shop for groceries and carry the bags inside. I pick up prescriptions, mail packages, return library books, and pick up takeout and dry cleaning. I also buy hardware and pet supplies.

If you would like company, I stay for a cup of coffee and a chat. If you prefer quiet, I drop everything off and go. I do not give medical care, and I do not fill out forms. Ask your doctor, your pharmacist or the office when you are unsure.

Help in Lincoln beyond errands

Senior errands work best alongside the help Lincoln already offers. Aging Partners, at 600 S. 70th Street, plans and coordinates services for seniors across an eight-county area. It handles information, referrals, case management and home-delivered meals.

NeighborLNK, run with Aging Partners and the City of Lincoln, matches volunteers with homebound seniors age 60 and over or people with disabilities. Volunteers run errands and offer companionship by phone or video. They do not go inside homes. My senior errand services can come inside.

I am a paid errand runner, not a volunteer program. You can use both if that helps.
